CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

We believe that the girls in the TKP House are the exact ones that God hand-picked for our program. Girls are referred to TKP by partner organizations, local clinics, or government organizations; and to be considered eligible, they must meet the following criteria:

  • Pregnant from sexual abuse

  • 15 years or younger, unmarried

  • Thoughts/attempt of either suicide or abortion

  • 2-3 parents/guardians willing and available to participate in TKP training programs

  • Locally referred (lives in Lusaka or Chongwe)

In 2019, we admitted 6 girls for our pilot year. In 2020, we admitted 2 more, bringing our capacity to 8 girls and 8 babies in the house.

INDIVIDUALIZED CARE PLAN

Upon intake, girls are given a comprehensive assessment to design an individualized care plan for their time in the TKP House. This assessment provides our team with critical data which will inform the best timing and method for eventual reintegration back into the community. The girls are assessed in the following areas:

  • Academic

  • Family Background

  • Life Skills

  • Medical

  • Psychological/Emotional

  • Socioeconomic/Home Life

TKP is committed to the protection and privacy of the girls in our care. Because of this, we will never post a photo which reveals the face of one of our girls or babies. Click here to learn more about Why We Don’t Show Faces.
